The Vision
Architectural Concept
White Residence is conceived as a contemporary tropical dwelling where simplicity, materiality, and climate responsiveness define the architectural approach. The project explores a refined balance between solid and void, combining textured stone walls, light-toned surfaces, and warm timber elements to create a calm and cohesive composition.
The architecture is organized around a seamless indoor-outdoor relationship, with large sliding openings that extend the living spaces toward the pool and garden. Deep overhangs and recessed façades provide shading while enhancing the sense of depth and spatial layering.
Material selection plays a central role, emphasizing natural textures and neutral tones that reflect the surrounding landscape of Uluwatu. The design prioritizes passive strategies such as cross-ventilation, natural lighting, and shaded outdoor areas to ensure comfort in a tropical climate.
The result is a private and serene living environment where architecture is understated yet refined, allowing light, air, and landscape to shape the daily experience.
